Maquette at Home in John Lewis
SMP Chair David Hide writes about a recent outing for the memorial maquette
As part of our on going public engagement and to grow the Project within our local community, we were delighted to spend the day in Horsham’s John Lewis. We spoke with many shoppers, many already knew about the work of the Project while others were engaging for the first time.
It was a great opportunity to discuss the new location in the park and also to receive further feedback on the design of the artwork prior to the maquette going from model to finished design.
We would like to thank John Lewis for providing us with the opportunity to set up home for the day and to everyone who came and chatted to us about the project.
The day also provided us with another all important fundraising opportunity and we would like to thank everyone who purchased anthologies and made donations.
We are always keen to hear from individuals, societies and organisation about other locations and opportunities for us to display the maquette and promote the work of the project, so please do get in touch by emailing shelleymemorialproject@btinternet.com
Next stop for the maquette is the Arts Society Horsham monthly meeting in the Baptist Church on the Brighton Road!
